Current PhD Research
Reactivity of soot particles emitted by gasoline direct-injection (GDI) engines: Interrelationship between particle properties, reactivity and engine operating parameters.
Research Interests:
- Aerosol chemistry and physics
- Soot aerosol characterization: Measurement of the (optical) properties, reactivity and chemical constituents
- On-line structural and functional analysis of (soot) nanoparticles (agglomerate structure, primary particle diameters, particle size distribution, definition and measurement of the surface area).
- Soot particle formation in internal combustion engines
- Kinetics and reaction mechanisms of the oxidation of soot
- Particle behaviour in Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tubes (RHVTs)
